Overview
Grovi Family is a location game on Solana. Fragments of tokenized stocks are attached to points in real cities. You open the map, walk to a point, hold the catch button and the fragment is yours. In this build every catch is practice: it is recorded in your browser and valued at the live market price, and nothing is transferred.
Three parts are planned for the live game: a spot table (where, which stock, how much), a claim service that checks you were really there, and a public vault on Solana that holds the stock tokens and releases them only for approved claims. Nothing is minted: a fragment can only be paid if it was bought and deposited first.
Spots
A spot is a point on the map with a stock, a dollar size and a short description of the place (a bus shelter, a park gate). In practice mode spots are generated by a formula from the date and a grid of roughly 550-metre cells, so everyone in the same place sees the same spots on the same day, and no server has to store them. They refresh at midnight, local time.

The catch
- You allow location (or, in practice, place yourself by tapping the map).
- Your reach is 35 metres plus half of the accuracy figure your device gives. A fix worse than 80 metres is refused: city GPS is often 20 to 50 metres out, and a fixed radius would only punish people actually standing there.
- Inside reach, hold the button for 1.2 seconds.
- Limits: 6 catches a day, each spot once a day, 10 minutes between catches.
- Practice: the catch is saved in localStorage. Live (planned): the claim service checks the walk, signs an approval, and the vault sends the fragment to your wallet.
The vault
Not created yet. The plan is one Solana address that owns a token account for each stock. Its balances are the reserve, its outgoing transfers are the payouts. The proof page shows the exact RPC call that will read it. No separate program is needed to hold tokens; the open design question is how claims are approved without one key being able to empty it, which explains why the vault waits for an outside review.
Legendary
Once a day one place and one hour are named, a day ahead. Each walker within reach in that hour holds one entry, and the winner is picked as the hour ends. In practice you can take a ticket but no prize exists. The full text sits in the legendary rules.
Fair play
The same small daily allowance for every walker, a draw instead of a race for the legendary, and an accuracy ceiling. For the live game a server-side check of the walk and a human-read appeal route are planned. Faking a position in practice mode is allowed, because nothing is at stake; we say that openly rather than pretend a browser can be cheat-proof.
Tokens
Stock fragments are xStocks: tokenized shares issued by a third party on Solana under the Token-2022 program. Their issuer, not Grovi Family, decides who may hold them. $GROVI is the game's own token, planned for boosts, the legendary gate, sponsor payments and spot votes. Practice vs live
- Live today: network data, stock prices, wallet connection and balances, the map, the rules.
- Practice today: catches, legendary tickets, the board, sponsor pin drafts.
- Not built: the vault, the claim service, the shop, payouts of any kind.
API
GET /api/chain returns the live snapshot the site shows: slot, epoch, transactions per second, the SOL price, every xStock price, and the $GROVI mint facts once the token exists. It is cached for 15 seconds and rate limited per network.
POST /api/rpc is a read-only Solana JSON-RPC relay for wallet balances. It accepts six read methods, refuses anything that sends or simulates a transaction, and only answers token-account queries for mints the site shows.
Run it yourself
The site is a Next.js app with no database and no required settings. Install Node 20 or newer, install the dependencies, build and start it; it runs on port 5130. An optional private Solana RPC can be set with SOLANA_RPC_URL for the server and NEXT_PUBLIC_SOLANA_RPC_URL for the browser.

What is Grovi Family?
Grovi Family is a location game on Solana. Small fragments of tokenized stocks are pinned to real corners of real cities. You walk to one, hold the catch button while you stand there, and the fragment is yours. Right now the map runs in practice mode: the walking and the rules are real, the catches are not paid.
How does Grovi Family work?
Your phone reports where you are only while the map is open. When you are within reach of a spot, the catch button wakes up; hold it and the catch is recorded. In practice mode the record stays in your own browser. At launch a public vault on Solana is planned to send the fragment to your wallet, and every payout would be a transaction anyone can open on an explorer.
How do I buy $GROVI?
$GROVI is not trading yet. When it launches, the contract address appears on this site first, in the header, the footer and the token page. You will need a Solana wallet such as Phantom, Solflare or Backpack, some SOL for fees, and then a swap on Jupiter or the launch page. Check the address on this site before every buy.
Which network is Grovi Family on?
Solana mainnet, for everything: the $GROVI token, the wallet you connect, and the tokenized stocks the game is built around. There is no bridge and no second chain to manage.
Is Grovi Family audited?
Not yet. There is no Grovi contract live today, and nothing exists yet to audit. The planned vault and the token setup will be reviewed before any real payout goes out, and the report will be linked here when it exists.
Do catches pay out today?
No. This build is practice only. Catches are saved in your browser and valued at live market prices so you can see what they would be worth, but no token is sent to anyone.
